Add FTO Reporting to your home screen so it opens like a native app — full-screen, no browser bar, and works fully offline on the water.
You're online — perfect time to install. The app will be cached for offline use.
After installing
Open the app from your home screen while on Wi-Fi or mobile data at least once. This downloads all screens and data to your device. After that, you can go fully offline — fill in trip reports on the boat, and email them to NT Fisheries when you're back onshore.
Troubleshooting
Q: I can't find 'Add to Home Screen' on iPhone
A: Make sure you are using Safari — not Chrome, Firefox, or another browser. The option only appears in Safari on iPhone and iPad.
Q: The install icon doesn't appear on Chrome
A: Try refreshing the page. The install icon appears after the browser verifies the PWA manifest. If it still doesn't appear, use the 3-dot menu → 'Add to Home screen'.
Q: The app doesn't work offline after installing
A: Open the app once while connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data). This triggers the Service Worker to cache all files. After that, it will work offline.
Q: My data disappeared
A: Trip data is stored in your browser's local storage. Clearing browser data or 'website data' in your phone settings will erase it. Export your CSV regularly as a backup.
